Preparations for 2007-2008

Dear Visitor of A1GPNews.nl, It took a while to get things up and running for the next season, but we working on it to get everything ready before the start of the 2007-2008 season of A1GP. On wednesday the 26th we will have the site ready for registration. We hope to see you then again. The A1GP prediction team.
Predictions for the A1GP season 2006-2007

At the moment we are working very hard on the new site for the next A1GP season. We get a lot of requests when the prediction site is open for the new A1GP season 2006-2007. As soon as all the A1GP teams for the 2006-2007 are announced we will open the site for you to enter your predictions. Of course you will receive a notification by Email when we open the prediction competition. Till then you have to wait a while.

Indonesian A1GP Race rescheduled to 12 february 2006

Due to the sudden death of the Dubai Emir, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum the upcomming race in Indonesia has been rescheduled to 12 february 2006. The first A1GP race will now be held in South Africa.
Sprintrace after a thrilling race for Team France.

The A1GP sprintrace in Sepang was very exciting, from the beginning of the race there was al lot of competition on track. Team France and team Brazil made big steps throught the field. Team Switzerland has a big struggle with team France to defend their top position. The battle for the lead was very close and finally France manage to overtake team Switzerland in the last round of the sprintrace! Saying it in one word, it has been fantastic!
Team Germany hopefully present at Sepang

Because German driver Adrian Sutil broke his thumb during last race in Eastern Creek, his seat will be replaced by Timo Scheider. It’s gonna be a race against the time for Timo Clock because he’s racing today in Dubai for the FIA GT championship. After he finishes at Dubai he will get on a plane as soon as possible to take part of the A1GP race in Sepang.
Two new drivers in Sepang

During the upcomming A1GP race weekend in Sepang, two new drivers joined and have been added to the long list of A1GP drivers. Team Czech Republic added Jaroslav Janis to their drivers list and Team Mexico is reinforced by Luis Diaz.
Jos Verstappen becomes first in the first free practice

It’s become clear that Jos Verstappen still can drive fantastic. In the first free practise for the A1GP race in Sepang he finished as first. Team Brazil was as good as usual and became second. Also Ireland is improving and Team Ireland became third in this first training practice.
Gianmaria Bruni joins team Italy

The next A1GP weekend in Sepang the Italian team will welcome Gianmaria Bruni to get behind the steering wheel. Up till now it’s unclear who’s gonna drive the sprint race and the feature race, but it will become clear soon enough.

It looks like this raceweekend in Sepang all teams will apear, including the Japanese team. It is known that mainly Malasia and Indonesia are very much focused to set a good result this weekend.
Hayanari Shimoda discharged from the hospital.

After the big crash of the Japanese driver in last weekends A1GP race in Eastern Creek, Hayanari Shimoda was taken to the hospital where he had to stay the night to run some tests. Today he was discharged from the hospital. It is unknown whether he will drive the next race for team Japan.

Few suprises during the qualifying for the A1GP sprintrace at Eastern Greek

Team France was just as good as in Estoril and managed to qualify again on the frontrow with a pole position for the sprintrace. In the fight for the front row it was the A1GP team of Portugal this time who succeeded in the 2nd position. The team of the Czech Republic had bad luck and they will start from the 8th row on a 16th place. The team of Great Brittain made some progression, they will start the sprintrace from the 3rd row on the 5th position. The team of the Netherlands had less luck, they have to start from an 8th position from the 4th row.
A lot of new names in Australia

With the arrival of the A1 grandprix circus to Austrialia, also a 'pack' of new drivers has arrived. For team Brazil driver Tuka Rocha has been added to the team. Team Italy has even two new drivers: Andrea Montermini and Giammaria Raffaelle. Team Russia also came up with a new driver, his name is (how suitable) Roman Rusinov. Besides team South Africa who added a new name to their drivers list with Gavin Cronje. Also team America have found another new driver, Brian Herta, he’s well known in the raceworld.
A1GP team of Indonesia gives potential chances away

Last race in Portugal the team of Japan failed to apear, but it’s good that they are back in the Australian race weekend. Now the A1GP races are comming nearer Indonesia, the Indonesian team failed to appear in Australia. It’s said that the driver Ananda Mikola has other commitments in the Asian F3 racing series.
